  BMW CLUB QLD CHARITY DAY - RAFFLE TICKETS & DONATIONS

  BMW Club Queensland is hosting the Inter-Club Competition and Charity Day on 10th August 2024 and we are asking you to support the event by purchasing raffle tickets or making a donation.

  If every club member bought just one $10 book of raffle tickets, or donated $10, that would add over $4,000 to our charity donation.
  

  This year we are supporting Night Ninjas. 100% of your raffle ticket purchase or donation will go directly to this grass roots organisation and can be any amount you wish.

  It's just $10 for a book of 10 tickets.  We're hoping to get support like we've had in the past with prizes like a BMW for the weekend, getaway accommodation packages, gift cards, car service vouchers etc.

  

  To purchase tickets, use the "Register" button.  If you are purchasing multiple raffle books, enter the extras as guests. e.g. 4 books = 1 + 3 guests.

  Come along for what will be a great drive from North Lakes out to Wivenhoe, north to Kilcoy and back to North Lakes via Dayboro. This is the next Inter-Club Challenge (ICC) event, and it's a great opportunity to help our club bank some points towards the 2024 club point score. 

  And don't stress if you think your cars economy is not that great, all scoring is done based on the advertised economy of the vehicle and how close you can get to it. 

  
  

  What is an Economy Run?

  Drivers in an Economy Run follow a mapped route, using their best fuel and battery preserving skills (as appropriate) with an aim to show their vehicle has the highest kilometres per litre consumption/usage at the finish. 

  All road registered vehicles are welcome!

  Come out to Mt Cotton and slide away your worries while brushing up on your driving skills.

  Skid pan sessions are an excellent way to learn and practise car control by recognising when your car may go into a skid situation and learning how to react and recover. 

  This is all done at low speed, in a safe environment, with the assistance of a qualified instructor. Safe Driver Training is hosting this event and providing the instructors.

  Entry is only available to financial club members.  You can share your entry with another driver. Passengers are allowed. 

  No special clothing or helmets are required, but you must wear closed in flat shoes. 

  It's only $140 entry for members and you'll have a blast.

  This is a great event for a fun introduction to motorsport or, for the more experienced, an opportunity to hone their driving skills. It's also a great opportunity to help add to our club's points for the ICC club point score.

  Entry is only $70 for adults and $35 for juniors. A Motorsport Australia licence (day or annual) is required for this event. A day licence is $25.

  The fun, atmosphere and excitement of RACQ MotorFest returns on Sunday 16th June 2024.  Public entry is from 10:00am.

  However, display cars will need to assemble from around 7:00am so that we can enter as a group and be set up by about 8:00am (more details will be provided to registrants closer to the event!).

  The event will be held at the iconic Brisbane Showgrounds and as always, it promises to have something for everyone.

  In 2024, all the family favourites will return, including roving entertainment, market stalls, kids’ rides, food stalls and an array of wonderful prestige, vintage, unique and collector vehicles, as well as the latest in vehicle and transport technology.

  
  

  Join club members in showing off your BMW Group car to the thousands of people who will be attending Motorfest!

  This year we will again have an undercover display parking area (same location as last year).

  You must be a financial member bringing a BMW Group car (BMW, Mini, Rolls Royce) to be part of the BMWCQ display. There are limited spaces available, so register now to avoid disappointment!

  The venue has specified the following conditions for display vehicle registrants:

  • Display vehicles must bring their own drip tray/carpet square for ground protection (regardless of whether your car leaks fluids - this is an RNA requirement).

  • Display vehicles must carry a 1kg dry powder extinguisher. If you are attending as part of a club, 1 fire extinguisher per 20 vehicles is sufficient.
  • Display vehicles must have the fuel cap secured and not removed while on display.

  
  

  RACQ registration will close on Friday, 10 May 2024, or earlier, should the event capacity be reached. Register now to avoid disappointment!

  This track day, sponsored by RX Automotive, is a full day event and is being held at iconic Lakeside Park on Friday, 21 June 2024.

  As a result of our great relationship with Lakeside and RX Automotive's sponsorship support, entry fees are still just $195 for financial members of BMWCQ and financial members of ICC Clubs.  Non-club members are also welcome to enter at $240.

  Not a member? See the Non-member Special Offer! It's not too late to join now if you would like to be a part of a great club. Don't own a BMW? No problem - you are most welcome to join BMWCQ as an Associate Member and enjoy all the benefits of club membership.  

  There is an ENTREE GROUP open to all at a reduced entry fee. Entree Group drivers will not be timed and will be lead for five laps in each session by Simon Harrex who is a very experienced race car driver.  Passing will not be permitted as this group is intended as an introduction to track day events. Drivers must meet the normal track day requirements for a licence and attire. 

  Program Outline: 

  1. This is a Sprint Event. Sprints are not racing. Read more HERE.

  2. At least three morning sessions and three afternoon sessions are planned.  Each session will be an out lap, five timed laps and a warm down lap (not applicable to Entree Group). There will be five groups (including the Entree Group) in each session. The full program, group allocations and procedures for the day will be advised prior to the event. 

  3. Time permitting, we plan to run passenger laps over the lunch break OR at the end of the day. Passengers are required to sign in with RACERS, wear an approved helmet, long sleeved top, long pants and closed in shoes. 

  
  

  Full Day Entry Fees:

  1. $195 for members of BMWCQ and ICC clubs.

  2. $240 for non-club members running in timed groups. SPECIAL OFFER: Your entry fee includes 12 months BMWCQ membership and entitles you to future discounts.

  3. $180 for Entree Group. Note: no timing and no passing in this group.

  Half Day Entry Fees 

  $155 for BMWCQ financial members only. Half day entrants do not accrue BMWCQ motorsport championship points.

  Licence & Lap Timer:

  1. All entrants (includes Entree) will need a RACERS Clubman licence (day or annual).

  2. A Westhold lap timer will be provided if you do not have your own (not applicable to Entree).

  Shared Car:

  1.  More than one fully paid entrant may share a car.

  2. Not applicable to Entree Group entries.

  3.  If you are sharing a car, please advise during registration so that an appropriate group can be allocated for each entrant.

  Preparation - All Entrants:

  1. Please read this document for the basic requirements you need to consider for your car and yourself. Pay particular attention to the clothing/helmet requirements.

  2. CTP Insurance - if your car has Queensland registration, you are advised to contact your CTP insurer and request a motorsport extension.

  3. Ensure you bring sufficient water/fluids to keep yourself hydrated.

  Noise Limits:

  All vehicles must be below 95 db to proceed onto the track.

  Available at the pit lane cafe. Please ensure that you bring sufficient water/fluids to keep yourself hydrated.

  After a couple of years hiatus, the Famous Macs Bridge Car Sports and Classic Car Festival is back in 2024 with a spectacular new addition of “Wings”.

  The Triumph Sport Owners Association Queensland, the long-time custodians of Macs Bridge have been joined by the Mazda MX5 club Qld and the Caboolture Aero Club to introduce Macs Bridge to an exciting new chapter of this long-time celebration of motor vehicles. Listen out for details prior and also in attendance on the day from 101.5FM

  2024 will see the first Macs Bridge to be hosted at the Caboolture Aero Club on July 14 2024.

  This exciting new location will see the TSOAQ, the Mx5 Club QLD and the Caboolture Aero Club join together to introduce Macs Bridge to not just an outstanding new location but an exciting new addition of aircraft displays.

  Macs Bridge has been one of the premier celebrations of all things related to motor vehicles in Southeast Qld for over thirty years and in 2024, it aims to be even bigger and better. As per previous events sports and classic vehicle will remain the cornerstone of the event but with support of the Caboolture Aero Club, entrants and visitors will now have the opportunity of viewing a wide range of Classic aircraft.

  Owners of all types of sports and classic cars and aircraft are welcome to participate. Visitors are encouraged to come along and share in what is bound to be a visual feast of all things related to Wheels and Wings.

  Start:  Fernvale Memorial Park.  Map link.  Grab a coffee from the famous bakery and assemble at the park at 0845.

  Departure:  0930.

  The drive will take us through the northern Lockyer Valley and around past the site of the WW2 Lowood airfield, which became the famous Lowood Racetrack.

  Apex Park in Gatton will be the comfort stop. We'll then continue through the Lockyer Valley and Murphy's Creek to our lunch stop at the Blue Mountain Hotel.

  DRESS CODE

  The recommended dress code is comfortable clothing however drivers must wear enclosed shoes if racing. 
  Loan shoes are available for members free of charge. See plan your day for more details

  HELMETS

  To ensure your protection all helmets are hygienically disinfected after each use. Please ensure the visor is down at all times whilst driving the karts.. You may bring your own full face helmet with a visor fitted if it meets AS 1698 Australian Helmet Standards requirements. We provide a full-face helmet for all drivers as a part of your membership fee.
